EAC-CPF for Creator Metadata about Book Artists
Goal: To better facilitate discovery and selection of artists' books through contextual exploration of aggregated information on book artists.
As an alternative to the limits of the MARC Authority format, this project is exploring the use of EAC-CPF for encoding information about the creators of bibliographic works and their relationships to other creators, facilities, themes, subjects, and techniques.
Prototype
Automated generation of EAC-CPF records from MARC Bibliographic records export can be achieved using SNAC EAC-CPF utilities
Ingest of (linked) data from WorldCat Identities and VIAF can be performed using the RAMP editor
Below, transformed EAC-CPF records to HTML with an XSLT stylesheet that invokes a jQuery accordion. Delivered as an iframe to allow easy integration with library or museum catalog.
